Full House!

Last Saturday night was the second performance in Perspective 2’s new music series “Live at P2 ..” and it was HOT! Mike Eyia and RITMO played to a full house and reinforced thier standing as Michigan’s premier Latin Jazz Band once again. Angela had the crowd dancing with Salsa lessons while the video crew of Marcus and Melissa Sigh caught it all! Lochabar Sound provided Front of House and Live Recording services. Lynne Brown and Ann Hill of P2 are doing a great job with this series. Keep an eye on this place!

Lochabar Sound recently completed a system install at Perspective 2 in Old Town, Lansing MI. The main room, which was live to begin with, now features K12 for mains (flown) and monitors. Next, we’ll provide Front of House and Live Recording for RITMO’s show on February 26th.

Tim Little and the “Good Times Picking Parlor”

We just learned that Tim Little is hospitalized with some cardiac issues and, because testing will take some time to complete,  will not attend the upcoming Feb 14 “Picking Parlor” session at VFW post 6132. Tim asked that I convey his disappointment at not being able to contribute this month.

I know we all wish Tim and Roberta the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

Tim was fairly adamant about the Picking Parlor taking place regardless of his status, in light of which we here at Lochabar intend to go “on with the show”. I’d like to report back to Tim that, while he was certainly missed, we did manage to hold down the fort.

We look forward to seeing you all of you there, both familiar faces and new.

PA at P2

Lochabar Sound has been selected to install a new PA system at Perspective 2, an urban cool creative venue for special events in the heart of Lansing, Michigan’s “Old Town”.

Perspective2 is developing a great line up of live music shows that include: Jazz, World Music, Blues and more. To facilitate this, owners Lynne Brown and Ann Hill were very specific in their system criteria. They wanted a modular, scalable, small-footprint system adressing current needs while providing for reasonable, economical, upgrades at later dates.

To meet this criteria, within budget, Lochabar Sound will install a system including QSC K12’s for mains and monitors, a Presonus 16.4.2 digital mixer, and microphones by Shure, Audix, and Rode. Additionally, Lochabar Sound will handle all cable runs, suspend the main speakers, and construct a wheeled cabinet to house the mixer and any outboard gear.

Installation is scheduled for February, 2011.
